Pandeglang - The skeleton of a rhinoceros was found by the 2010 Rhinoceros Inventory Team in Nyiur Block, Ujung Kulon National Park in Pandeglang District of Banten Province. The skeleton was evacuated and brought to the Ujung Kulon National Park Office.
Head of Ujung Kulon National Park, Agus Priambudi, in Labuan, Pandeglang District, Banten, on Wednesday (26/5/2010) said until now the cause of the rhino’s death is still under investigation. “But, temporary results say it was not because of poaching. When the skeleton was found, important parts such as the horn and canines were still intact,” said Agus.

When found, the rhinoceros skeleton was still intact and complete with the horn and hooves covered by insect larvae. The incisors and molar were still sharp. The length from the tip of the head bone to the base of the tail was 270 centimeters and the tail itself was 55 centimeter. (Cyprianus Anto Saptowalyono)
